Successful projects are only possible with the right people. At Triad, we’ve built a team comprised of both seasoned professionals and fresh talent. That balance of experience and new perspectives offers value on every project.
Brandon Marcott, P.E.
Having an opportunity to pursue professional hockey, Brandon instead decided to become a civil engineer – an idea originally sparked during career day in 7th grade. He’s been David’s right-hand man since joining Triad 10 years ago, just before graduating from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2006. Born and raised in Alaska, Brandon previously interned as an inspector with the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, and worked in materials testing for Allan Murfitt Company. He is a licensed P.E. in both Alaska and North Dakota. Known for his ability to think outside the box, Brandon enjoys the uniqueness of each project, which requires new solutions to be thought out and implemented.
David A. Grenier, P.E.
David is at the core of Triad Engineering , as one of the original founders of the firm in 1982. A graduate of the University of Arizona in 1971, David has nearly 45 years of industry experience. During this time, he has developed a deep understanding of the design, permitting and construction processes, and is highly skilled in applying this knowledge to deliver quality projects on time and in budget. David places a high importance on communication and building strong relationships with clients, the design team, governmental agencies and contractors to ensure the successful completion of projects. He most enjoys working with clients to develop and transform their ideas into reality.
Grant Mathews, E.I.T.
When he was younger, Grant wanted to be a Lego Master Builder. While he’s no longer playing with Legos, Grant is still building – but now he’s helping to build communities, driven by the belief that safe and sensible civil design is the foundation of lasting community development. A third-generation Alaskan, Grant finds joy in living and working in such a beautiful place. He joined the Triad team two years ago, following his graduation from Calvin College in Michigan, and says he most appreciates the teamwork, the collaborative atmosphere and the unique challenges presented by each project.
Civil Designer & Field Inspector
Marty came to Alaska in 1980, planning to stay for one year. She’s called Alaska home since then. With 38 years in the industry, Marty has been a member of the Triad team for 16 of those. Driven by her trademark “get-er-done” attitude, Marty assists in the design and review of plan sets, and conducts field inspections during project construction. Known as the “permit queen,” Marty is also in charge of obtaining and submitting permits. She holds an associate’s degree in engineering and drafting technologies, and previously worked as a project engineer with the Alaska Department of Transportation. In addition to the support of her co-workers, Marty most enjoys seeing a project progress from design through construction.
Originally from Linn Creek, Missouri, Jim has 45 years of industry experience, which encompasses structural, underground, roads, sewer, water, and home building. He is also trained as a pilot, and is licensed as a certified erosion and sediment control lead and certified as a fusion welder in confined space. With Triad since 2015, Jim works with contractors and governmental agencies to ensure site improvements are installed in accordance with the approved plans and specifications.
